New Song – “Election Day”
Head over to my myspace page and check out my new song, “Election Day.”
I felt compelled to write this song after Prop 8 won in November’s election. The irony of electing a black man president and yet revoking the already-established right of gays to marry still baffles me. And since then, two relatively conservative states have now legalized (and legitimized) gay marriage — Iowa and Vermont. Who knew?! As we await the CA Supreme Court’s verdict, it’s as important as ever to keep putting a voice to those of us whose civil rights are in jeopardy.
