Play Reading Tonight – The Dark Sister
May 18th
My play reading for The Dark Sister performs tonight at 7:30pm at the Off-Market Theatre, Studio 250, 965 Mission St in San Francisco. Tickets are $10-20.
The Dark Sister by Vonn Scott Bair, directed by Aine Donnelly. Sonoma County, 1875. The dark-haired Moira Bannon fights her fair sister Mary for the love of James London, who loves Moira but who is contractually bound to marry the younger sister. The tensions between the sisters grow until Moira, in a crime of passion, drowns her sister in the river. She gets away with the murder and will now marry James. But if Mary is dead, then who–or what–is that young woman staring at Moira through the kitchen window? Adapted from and English 17th Century folk tale, The Dark Sister is Bair’s newest play and his first good old-fashioned ghost story.
